I've never detected even a hint of chemistry between Neal and Sara. If I knew for sure that there was a possibility that Neal would wind up with Sara at the end of the series, I'd stop watching now.
I've enjoyed the first three episodes of season 4 very much -- such an improvement over season 3, which for me had many problems, one of which was the presence of Sara - but right now I'm debating whether to watch tonight's episode because I know that Sara is in it.
Notice I'm not talking about the actress - I'm talking about that character who was so poorly conceived and so poorly introduced to us in season 2. First impressions matter enormously and she turned me off from the start. Later attempts at tweaking the character only made things worse. Neal makes no sense to me when he's with her -- I can't understand why he wants to be with her, the relationship makes no sense to me. Neal needs a woman who exudes tenderness, subtlety, playfulness, a quiet strength, and most of all, a deep affection for him, for the man he is -- qualities I do not associate with Sara.
I agree about the lack of chemistry and I'm no fan of Sara myself, but there's no question that I'm going to watch this episode! Even though it won't help the ratings, I feel a strong need to support my favourite tv show. :-)
Anno, I feel with you...I'm dreading the episode too, though I will watch. And the interview...sometimes I wonder if HB knows the character she is playing at all. Sara is mysterious? Since when? The first episode with her was a big exposition dumb, she is not more mysterious than Jones or Diana or Elizabeth. Yes, we don't know as much about her as about the main characters, but that's to expected for a side character.
I'm happy to see Sara back--I'm still hoping that Neal ends up with her in the long run. I'm curious to see how she'll handle seeing him with another potential love interest, however, as it looks like that might happen tonight.
