Why Peter Burke.

Helly dear fixated collars,
Elrhiarhodan recently asked me "why Peter Burke?" and has now kindly invited me to share my thoughts on her blog. So here it is:

my love letter to Peter Burke

My attraction to Peter Burke is, I think, a combination of many things, brought together by the character, and by Tim DeKay.

Rabid Squee: Master Plan

Sure, the plot was contrived,
but it's no reason to puke,
Mr. Drama Queen.

Loved this episode! OK, so, it didn't measure up to other great standalone eps ("Dentist of Detroit", anyone?), and the central plot was as thin as the paper the script was printed on (not to mention a flimsy excuse to see Neal dressed in butler drag), but still, I enjoyed it very much.
On with the Squee.

Rabid Squee: Controlling Interest

Neal Caffrey: Too interesting
to be normal.
Hey there, Collars!

So sorry about the delay in posting this up, but it’s harder for me to get my Squee on these days. I wish I could blame it on the switch to Thursdays, but that’s not the reason. The fact is that I can’t sit down and spend two hours on a weekday morning to do this anymore (I used to be self-employed), so now I have to wait until the weekend, and last weekend was CRAY-CRAY.

Enough with the excuses – on with the Squee!

Rabid Squee: Out of the Frying Pan

Yep, that face just about sums up
my feelings about this ep!
Now THAT’S what I’m talking about. White Collar is back, baby! Finally.

I must say, this episode had its flaws, but it was back to its usual fun form and I had a rollicking good time. Maybe I liked it more because of the flaws? Or maybe my standards are slipping. IDK – on with the Squee!

Rabid Squee: At What Price?

Prison!Peter: Scruffy yet sexy.
Friends, Collars, Countrymen, lend me your ears
I come to squee about White Collar, not to bury it!

Oh dear, what to say?

This is still my favorite show, but its creators are making it really hard for me to hold it in such high esteem. I am trying to really squee hard or die trying, but… well, I think I might have to draft my will pretty soon.

WELCOME BACK WHITE COLLAR! (And a partial goodbye . . .)

This looks oddly familiar, but something's different . . .
(Tim DeKay as Peter Burke and Matt Bomer as Neal Caffrey)
White Collar returns tonight and, as Tim DeKay tells TV Guide, there are some bumps, twists and reversals in store for our faves.

The first twist may be the new night. It's been a long hiatus, so I'm over the moon that our boys are finally back. Unfortunately, I'll be missing the fifth season premiere, as I'll be working. (Yes, my DVR is at the ready, and hopefully I'll be able to buy the digital version from Amazon or iTunes by tomorrow.) But, alas, there won't be an immediate review of the episode here at White Collar Fixation -- in fact, thanks to a new job, the posts here will not be as regular as they were in seasons past. So this feels like a bit of a goodbye to me as well.

On the plus side, I finally got to see White Collar film! (This was a little ways back, and I meant to squee before now, but real life got the better of me.) One of my co-authors here is a pro at set-stalking, but for me it was probably a one-time--and incredibly awesome--event. More on that to come . . .

Meanwhile, enjoy the premiere! For those who get to watch it live, I am sooooo jealous . . . .

Thank you for your amazing work on White Collar! Here's to many more years of Peter getting in over his head with Neal . . .

The Boston Marathon

Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone impacted by this despicable act of terror (whether its originator was domestic or foreign), and to the city of Boston itself. And we thank and appreciate all the first responders, and everyone who is working to save lives there.
